Fact 1 The first two sons of Henry and Barbara Vingoe, Henry b 1753 & Alex b 1756, were both born before the marriage of their parents. Henry was 3 years older than brother Alexander according to burial record evidence The baptism records are badly entered and appears to say Henry was baptised 4 months after Alexander was born and also after the marriage of their parents. I think the entry should read 28 Nov 1753 rather than 1758 ! Barbara was 19 when she gave birth to son Henry so perhaps her parents with-held permission to marry and the couple had to await her coming of age at 21. and the birth of a second child Alexander was in 1756.[Alex baptism entry says July 14 1758] Her father, Alexander Mills, was referred to as a " Gent" of St. Just.
